The Rift Spire

A tower has grown out of the rift: ten floors, ten bosses, each harder than the last. The Spire stands at the end of the lobby’s north-east branch. Its camp has Kael (climbs), Ilsa (the Cinder shop and Spire quests) and the Riftforge.

  • Talk to Kael at the tower door. Climb alone or with up to 3 others: players within range get a 15-second invite.
  • 5 minutes per floor. After a clear you get 20 seconds to breathe, then everyone still standing goes up.
  • No free healing between floors. Bring food, golden apples and potions.
  • Die and your climb ends. You keep your items. The others carry on without you.
  • No building, ender pearls or elytra inside.
  • /spire shows your best floor, checkpoint and Cinders. /spire leave gives up a climb.
  • From floor 6 the room fights back: lava and water floods, arrow volleys from the walls and crumbling floors.
  • Every attack and hazard is marked before it hits. Move out of the marked area.

Clear floor 5 and you can start later climbs at floor 6.

Boss health grows +75% for every extra player (2 players ×1.75, 3 ×2.5, 4 ×3.25). Hits don’t get weaker in a group, so everyone needs the armour for that floor. Adds come in bigger waves too.

Floors Enemy Level You need at least
1-3 10 Iron
4-7 20 Enchanted diamond (Fire Resistance for floor 7)
8-10 30 Enchanted netherite

See The Spire bosses for every floor’s mechanics and recommended gear.

  • 100 × the floor number in Stardust (floor 7 = 700).
  • 40 × the floor number in XP, and 50 season XP.
  • A guaranteed Riftforge mod from that boss’s list.
  • 5 × the floor number in Rift Shards.
  • Floor 5: a Rare key and the title [Spire Climber].
  • Floor 10: a Legendary key, the title [Spirebreaker] and the Spire Imp companion.
  • Cinders: the floor number × 2 (floor 7 = 14), up to 150 a day.
  • Rift Shards: the floor number (a full climb = 55), up to 100 a day.
  • A boss core, one per boss per day.
  • Ascendant Alloy: 1 for clearing floor 10, once a day.
  • A 20% chance at a mod from that boss, once per boss per day.

Your first climb of the day pays 25 Stardust × the highest floor you cleared.

/boss (or Fight a boss again at Kael) opens a menu of every boss you can fight:

  • The Cinder Colossus is always there.
  • Each Spire boss joins the list once you’ve beaten its floor in a real climb.
  • Pick Fight alone or Fight with players nearby (players within 10 blocks who’ve unlocked that boss get a 15-second invite).
  • A rematch is that one floor: same boss, hazards and 5-minute limit.

Rematches count for quests and the Hunting Log. Your first win against each boss per day pays its floor number in Cinders, plus the daily boss core and mod roll. They never give first-clear rewards, the daily climb bonus or a leaderboard place.

Two boards at the Spire camp update every minute:

  • Fastest climb this week: full climbs from floor 1, Monday to Sunday.
  • Highest floor: best floor ever; ties go to the faster climb.

Every Monday, the player with the previous week’s fastest full climb becomes the Spire Champion: a gold [Spire Champion] title for the week, an announcement, and 3 Ascendant Alloy. No full climb that week, no champion.

Ilsa Cindermark has a five-step Spire story and Spire dailies, all paid in Cinders. See Story quests.
