Survival

Survival is where you build. It never resets, so this is the place for your base.

  • Get there: the east arch in the lobby, or /spawn (also /world).
  • Difficulty: Hard (Overworld, Nether and End).
  • Claims: protect your builds with land claims. See Claims and homes.
  • Deaths: your items and XP go into a grave.

Survival spawn is a Starship on its landing pad, next to the catch tower and the spawn station.

  • Walk through the ship’s hatch to go back to the lobby.
  • The pad and tower are protected and can’t be claimed, and hostile mobs don’t spawn around spawn.
  • Nether portals you build in Survival lead to Survival’s own Nether. Coming back takes you to Survival.
  • The End is open: find a stronghold, fill the portal and fight the dragon. Leaving the End takes you to your bed, or to the Starship pad if you don’t have one.
  • The End’s main island can’t be claimed, so the dragon fight stays open to everyone. You can claim on the outer islands.

Wren Halloway, the Stablemaster, runs a ranch about 300 blocks south-southwest of spawn: a timber barn with stalls, a grazing paddock, a training ring and a campfire yard.

  • Getting there: follow the lamp-lit path from the foot of the spawn station’s south stairs (look for the sign), or find “Wren’s Ranch” on the web map.
  • The mount showcase: all nine mounts stand in their own pens east of the barn, each with where to find it. Right-click one to learn how to work for it.
  • The ranch is protected (no building or breaking) and hostile mobs don’t spawn there.

See Mounts for the quests.

Mounts can only be ridden in Survival. Companions follow you here too.

Play time (for loot box keys), quests, the Hunting Log and claim blocks all count in Survival and its Nether and End.
