v1.4.0 + v1.5.0: The Spire's guardian, backpacks and graves

21 October 2026

Two updates in one: the Cinder Colossus becomes the guardian of the Rift Spire (v1.4.0), and a big quality-of-life update with backpacks, graves, inventory tools, safe trading and random teleport in the mining world (v1.5.0). Details below.

The Cinder Colossus now guards the Rift Spire. To enter the Spire you must prove your worth by helping defeat it once.

  • No more Sunday fight. The Colossus can be challenged any time, day or night.
  • How to challenge it: type /boss cinder colossus (short forms: /boss colossus or /boss cinder), or talk to Kael at the Spire camp and press Challenge the Cinder Colossus.
  • What happens: the whole server sees “<name> is challenging the Cinder Colossus at the Spire Gate!”. Anyone can join within 2 minutes by typing the same command. Then the fight starts with everyone who is there.
  • The Spire Gate: the fight now takes place before the gate of the Spire: the same floating arena, with rift crystals, a glowing rift gate and the Spire rising behind it.
  • /boss leave takes you back to the lobby from the arena.
  • After a fight ends, the Colossus needs 1 minute to recover before the next challenge.

The Colossus fight (unchanged rules, for anyone new)

Section titled “The Colossus fight (unchanged rules, for anyone new)”
  • You keep your inventory in the arena. No PvP, no building.
  • The fight lasts up to 15 minutes. Its health grows with the number of players in the arena when it starts.
  • Phases: magma cube adds, then fire rings on the floor below 66% health (watch for the warning particles and step out), then meteor rain and an enrage below 33%.
  • To count as a victor you must deal at least 5% of its damage.
  • Your first win each day: 300 Stardust, a Rare key, 200 season XP, the title [Colossus Slayer] and a 10% chance at the exotic Cinderbrand.
  • Later wins the same day: the title, quest and Hunting Log credit and 50 season XP (no Stardust, key or exotic roll). The full reward comes back the next day.
  • Your first ever win opens the Rift Spire for you. You’ll get a message telling you to go see Kael.
  • A statue of the Cinder Colossus now stands guard beside the Spire bridge (by Rook’s stall). Right-click it to open the boss menu.
  • A floating sign just north of spawn points the way to the Spire.

Type /boss (or press Fight a boss again at Kael) to open a menu of every boss you can fight:

  • The Cinder Colossus is always on the list.
  • Each Spire boss joins the list once you’ve beaten its floor in a real climb (beat floor 3 and the Broodmother appears, and so on).
  • Pick a boss, then Fight alone or Fight with players nearby (players within 10 blocks who have also unlocked that boss get a 15-second invite).
  • A rematch is just that one floor: same boss, same hazards, the same 5-minute limit. Win it and you’re back in the lobby after 10 seconds. Fall and the fight ends (you keep your items).
  • Counts for quests and the Hunting Log, just like the floor does in a climb (including Ilsa’s and Rook’s Spire quests).
  • Your first win against each boss per day pays its floor number in Cinders (Floor 7 = 7 Cinders). This counts toward the normal 150-a-day Cinders limit.
  • Rematches never give the climb rewards (first-clear Stardust, keys, titles, the daily climb bonus or a spot on the weekly board). Those still come only from climbing.

v1.5.0 - Backpacks, Graves and Inventory Tools

Section titled “v1.5.0 - Backpacks, Graves and Inventory Tools”

Backpack - /backpack or /bp

  • Personal storage you can open anywhere on Main. It’s kept on the server like an ender chest, so there’s no item to lose.
  • Unlocks with 1 row once you finish Orin’s tour.
  • Upgrade it with the Upgrade button (the chest at the bottom): 2 rows 1,500 Stardust, 3 rows 3,000, 4 rows 6,000, 5 rows 10,000 Stardust + 300 Cinders. 5 rows is the maximum.
  • The Sort button (the hopper) tidies the backpack.
  • Safe on death: your backpack is never dropped.
  • Can’t be opened in the Rift Spire, the boss arena or during a duel.

Graves - /graves

  • When you die in survival, the mining world or any of their Nethers or Ends, your items and XP go into a grave where you died: your head on a small marker named “<you>’s grave”.
  • Died in the void, in lava or mid-air? The grave goes to your last safe spot instead.
  • Right-click (Bedrock: tap) your grave to get everything back. Armour goes straight back on if the slot is free, the rest goes into your inventory and anything extra lands at your feet.
  • Only you can open it for 30 minutes. After that anyone can. After 3 hours, whatever is left drops on the ground.
  • /graves lists your graves with their coordinates and time left.
  • No graves in the lobby, the Spire or the boss arena (you keep your inventory there), or on Anarchy.
  • Auto-refill (on by default): when a hotbar stack runs out (placing blocks, eating, throwing) or a tool breaks, the next matching stack or tool from your inventory moves into your hand. /refill turns it off or back on.
  • /sort - stacks and sorts your main inventory (your hotbar is left alone). Look at a chest you’re allowed to open and /sort sorts that chest instead.
  • /stash - puts items from your main inventory into chests and barrels within 6 blocks that already contain the same item. Only containers you may open; your hotbar, armour and off-hand are never touched. Logged like any other chest use.
  • Shulker peek - hold a shulker box in your main hand, sneak and right-click the air to open it without placing it. Changes are saved when you close it. The box can’t be moved or dropped while it’s open.

Safe trading - /trade <player>

  • Sends a trade request (it expires after 60 seconds). The other player types /trade accept (or /trade accept <name> if several people asked). Bedrock players get a button.
  • Each of you puts items on your side of the trade screen and sees the other’s offer. Both press Ready. The swap happens 3 seconds later.
  • Any change to either offer un-readies both players, so nobody can swap an item at the last second.
  • Closing the screen, logging out, changing worlds or dying cancels the trade and gives everyone their own items back.
  • Needs 2 hours of play time (same as /pay). Not in the Spire, the boss arena or during a duel.
  • /rtp - random teleport somewhere in the mining world (within its border). Only works in the mining world, so survival bases stay hidden. 10-minute cooldown.
  • The random-teleport pad at the mining hub no longer says “No safe spot found” when the teleport actually worked.
  • /l is a shortcut for /lobby.

/backpack (/bp) | /graves | /sort | /stash | /refill | /trade <player> | /trade accept [player] | /rtp | /l

  • Everything in v1.5.0 works on Main (lobby, survival, mining and their Nethers and Ends). Anarchy is unchanged: no backpacks, graves or tools there.
